Tangential

If you’ve ever tried to get my attention, you know how frustrating that process can be. My mind is full of winding staircases and secret passageways. I frequently find myself lost inside the maze.

Recently, I’ve spent time thinking about how I think and I’ve come to a couple of conclusions. When I think one thought, I have a large number options for where I can take that thought. I see all the options and select one deliberately. This process takes time. As a result, I find it difficult to form sentences for speech. There are many tangents available, but only one is the tangent I want to pursue.

When I’m alone, I tend to reverse and explore the other options as well. I think this is what makes it easy for me to come up with new ideas. The exhaustive reflection makes me consider every option and evaluate if I have placed any unnecessary constraints on my ideas.
